Paper Plate Sun Craft!

Step 1: Gather your materials! This craft is scissor heavy and there is a lot of cutting. Edit the craft depending on the age of your little ones. You can also have the pieces pre-cut so your little ones can focus on assembly. Cut out the sunbeams (onto cardstock paper), cut the tissue paper into small squares, and cut out the inner circle of your paper plate. Paint your paper plate yellow! Remember, if you don’t want to use yellow paint, watercolors work great too! Step 2: Use a glue stick to paste all of the sunbeams to the back of the plate. Count all 8! Use scissors to cut out a circle from the clear contact paper and stick it to the back of the paper plate. Now, you’re ready to decorate! For another great weather craft, check out the Rainbow Craft! Step 3: Stick your yellow and orange tissue paper to the contact paper. Be sure to add some glitter for an extra touch of sparkle. Add whatever extra flourishes you like!

Summer Sun Activity!

Be sure to hang your sun craft in the window! Let the light shine through the tissue paper to bring some beautiful light into the room! Use a hold punch and yellow pipe cleaner for easy hanging. Create your own Bee Craft for Kids for more fun with the color yellow!
