Free Sense of Touch Worksheets
First, get started with two Sense of Touch Coloring Sheets. Color each picture and say its name out loud. Color in a cactus, rabbit, tissue box, pillow, and Legos. Use these coloring sheets as a jumping off point for talking about describing words. Explore words like soft, hard, prickly, coarse, smooth, etc. How many fingers do we have? How many hands do we have? Head to the Sense of Taste to learn about another exciting sense!
Hard vs. Soft
My favorite worksheet is coming next, The 5 Senses: Hard vs. Soft Sorting Sheet. Have your little ones cut and paste each object into its correct column. The hard items are “Legos”, “cactus”, “knife and fork”, and “rocks”. The soft items are “rabbit”, “pillow”, “cat”, and “tissue”. Next, have fun with a Touch Scavenger Hunt. Put a check next to each thing you feel! Use this worksheet as a jumping off point to talk about all the different textures you discover.
The 5 Senses Worksheets
Next, trace the words with a marker or crayon in the Sense of Touch Tracing Sheet. Be sure to read the sentence aloud and color in the pictures. Repetitive tracing builds muscle memory and hand strength. Finally, practice your cut & paste skills in the Sense of Touch Puzzle. Discover some great reads to go with your sense of touch theme. Now, get reading some great sense of touch books! Read “My Touch” and “Don’t Touch this Book!”. One of my favorite activities is to make slime! This sensory activity is always a huge hit! If not slime, you can also make your own homemade playdough or oobleck.
